I received some Pixi products in my ipsy glam bag and decided to check the brand out. I ordered a few things, then a few more, and then even more. It’s quickly become one of my favorite brands. Plus, if you’re an ipsy member, they frequently have a brand offer of a 15% discount or more. I thought I’d go over the products that I’ve gotten and my thoughts on them. Overall, I love this brand and I love that I can get it at Target. I typically get it online, because I am a Very Important Pixi (VIP) member and get points that I can use for discounts on future purchases. I’d like to note that Pixi hasn’t sent me anything, these are all purchased on my own.
Beauty Blush – Rosy Rouge (Discontinued). The first items I bought from Pixi were some blushes that were on clearance. This color is a dark, mauve that is very buildable. It feels very soft on the skin.
Beauty Blush – Healthiest Honey (Discontinued). This is my “no blush” blush. It gives my cheeks a pop, but is a warm, tan color. This was great in the summer and I’m finding use for it in the winter, too.
Beauty Blush – Perkiest Pink (Discontinued). This blush looks shocking pink, but it goes on sheer and you can build up the intensity.
H2O SkinTint – Cream. I LOVE my SkinTint. It’s basically a tinted moisturizer, but covers much better than most I’ve tried before. I use this often, because it makes my skin look super natural – like I’m wearing no make up at all. That being said, it’s not great for when you need more coverage for redness or a blemish. It’s been great for daytime and summer looks, though.
Correction Concentrate – Brightening Peach. If you can only get one thing from Pixi, this would be my suggestion. It’s an undereye concealer and it is MAGIC. You can see the results immediately. The peach color corrects the bluish color that typically appears under the eyes. This instantly makes me look more refreshed and awake.
Shea Butter Lip Balm – Natural Rose. This is very nourishing lip balm. I chose a tinted one, so I get a little bit of color when applied. I actually keep this in my camera bag for shooting weddings, because it’s super hydrating and (I think) makes me look more professional having some slight color on my lips.
All Over Magic – Brightening Radiance. This is a great, subtle highlighter. I use this frequently to give myself a nice, refreshing glow. It’s not super concentrated and is pretty hard to mess up, so if you’re looking for a beginning highlighter – try this out!
All Over Magic – Bare Radiance. This is a subtle, warming powder. This photo is much darker than it is in real life. I wouldn’t go as far to call it a bronzer, because it’s not that concentrated. It’s a soft, shimmery, tan glow. This has been great for me in the winter to give my fair skin some slight color.
Mini Endless Silky Eye Pen – Black Noir. This stuff is true black and goes on so smoothly, BUT it migrates like something terrible. Even with primer, this did not stay and ended up creeping all over my eyelid. I have found, though, that this is a FANTASTIC tightlining liner. For whatever reason, I didn’t notice any smears or smudges when I do my tightline.
Lip Blush – Luck. This was okay and luckily on clearance. It does stay quite a long time when applied. I just don’t think lip pens are for me.
Flawless Beauty Primer – Even Skin. This is okay primer. I think I like my Clinique primer better, though. It doesn’t seem to soak into the skin or make my skin as smooth for makeup application as I’m used to.
Eye Bright Kit – No.1 Fair/Medium. This is awesome and a little confusing for me. It’s great for natural looking eyes with a pop, but I totally go to the product page each time I use it to remind myself which color is for which. (there’s two concealers and two highlighters). The shimmery highlighter is amazing, though.
Colour Correcting Powder Foundation – Cream. This powder has been good for me when I apply with a beauty blender to sort of finish off my look, but it’s too drying for my skin type (dry-combo) when I use a brush. I think more color selections would help, with all their skin items.
Endless Brow Gel Pen – Medium. This goes on so smoothly and blends very well. It’s much easier to put on than most pencils I’ve tried. I wish there were more colors, but for the most part
Nail Colour – Makeup Artist Mauve. I couldn’t pass up a nice, dull purple color. I was impressed with their nail polish formula. It lasted longer than most. I’d compare it to my Essie nail polishes.
Nail Colour – Almond Glow. This is a great, shimmery neutral color that I wore fairly often (before I got into gel nails). Same as before, the formula reminded me of Essie’s.
As you can see, I own a lot of products from Pixi! I like this brand because the quality is superb for the price. It’s all natural and they do not test on animals. I think they have great products that aren’t fussy and create a clean, natural look. They also have tons of tutorials on their website for application, which is fantastic!
