I was in Texas last month for some fun and exploring with a friend. We were actually going to go to an outdoor festival with the Ying Yang Twins and Petey Pablo and get white girl wasted to some old music from our 7th grade days, but the weather had other plans! It actually rained and got cancelled right as we arrived. We got a beer at the flagship Yeti store (yes, a lot of stores have bars so you can drink while you shop!) and then decided we’d go exploring the city and eventually made our way to 6th Street instead once the weather calmed down.
I decided to wear a skirt and top set from Nasty Gal and I got it on sale for only about $10, if I recall correctly. It looks like the exact one is sold out, but I found some options on their site here ($25) and here ($20). This was super comfortable and cool, which was very important in the Texas heat! The sandals are just comfortable ones since we were walking a ton that night.
First stop was at a place called The Garage, which was super hard to find! A local Austinite recommended it and we were not disappointed! Definitely get the Indian Paint Brush – a delicious cocktail!
Then it was time for the Dirty Sixth Street experience. It definitely reminded me of Broadway in Nashville or a mini Las Vegas Strip. Just tons of bars and they close down the road so people are walking everywhere. We stopped in a few random places, then made our way to Voodoo Doughnut, because why not?! Holy crap – it was amazing! I got the Marshal Mathers, which was just vanilla dough covered in M&M’s. So good! We actually considered ordering more via Uber Eats on a different night because they were just THAT tasty.
I absolutely LOVED Austin, Texas and I can’t wait to make my way back as soon as possible!
