This week I had the chance to catch Rob Zombie, Mudvayne, Static X, and Powerman 5000 at the Germania Insurance Amphitheater at Circuit of The Americas in Austin, TX! I’ve seen Rob Zombie three or four times before and he never disappoints but I was most excited to see Mudvayne. They haven’t toured in over 12 years, I believe. Fun fact: Mudvayne is from my home town of Peoria, IL so seeing them has been on my bucket list for years now. I hadn’t seen Static X or Powerman 5000 before, but I was familiar with their music and looking forward to it.
That afternoon while I was at work, it got very gloomy and began raining, which was concerning seeing as this is an outdoor venue. We desperately need the rain but I did not want this show to get cancelled! When I left work, it was raining so we headed over and sat in the parking lot for a bit until the rain subsided. Luckily, that was it for the night and besides the minor 20-30 minute delay, everything went off without a hitch!
I was super excite to wear this shirt from Akira, too. It gave me Rob Zombie vibes and you know I just love my fringe in general. My friend and fellow photographer, Kurt, is the tour manager for Static X for this show so he graciously added me to his guest list with a plus one so I could take my friend Angelique with me! Always good to see familiar faces! I had a great time and would highly recommend checking out any of the bands on the bill tonight, you won’t be disappointed!
