About a month ago, I bought an Eva NYC blow dryer and straightener from Nasty Gal. My straightener had crapped out and I’ve always wanted an ionic blow dryer, so once I saw the galaxy print and neon, I was sold! Not to mention the price was nice – the blow dryer was $27.50 and the straightener was $50. I wanted to give them a few weeks of using them before writing this up, so here it goes!
First off, I LOVE the straightener. It has a dial to adjust the temperature and the light turns green on the side when it’s up to that temperature. It’s a lot nicer than the Chi I was previously using and makes my hair feel silkier. I still can’t get the whole ‘curl your hair with a straightener’ thing down, but that’s a personal problem. The straightener does get hot all the way around, so I’m sure it’d do it!
The blow dryer is nice, but doesn’t dry my hair as fast as what I envisioned. I wouldn’t say it dried it too much quicker than my old one, if at all. I do like, though, the speed and temperature controls are a lot better. It came with a couple attachments, but I tend to just use it naked (hah). It’s a little quieter than my old one, but I wasn’t using anything fancy.
Overall, I’m happy with my purchase! I’d give the flat iron 9/10 and the blow dryer 7/10.
I personally love my Karmin
I will have to keep that brand in mind when it’s time to replace!
