I feel like foundation is one of the harder makeup items to find in terms of what works for you. It really varies so much from person to person. I have combination skin that is very dry in the winter, but I have an oily t-zone in the summer.
I stick with liquid foundations and I typically use a wet beauty blender to apply but occasionally use a brush instead. The most important aspect to me when selecting foundations is that my skin still looks like skin and it doesn’t look cakey or create any weird texture, especially over the length of wear. I wanted to share what’s been working for me in case you were thinking of giving one of these a try.

FENTY BEAUTY BY RIHANNA Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation – $35 : I love this foundation. I use both 150 and 190 depending on how tan I am. This is a full coverage foundation with a true matte finish. There is a huge shade range and it stays looking flawless on my skin hours later.

TARTE Water Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 15 – Sea Collection – $39 : This used to be called Rainforest of the Sea Foundation, but I see they renamed this to Water Foundation. This is a medium coverage matte foundation that makes my skin look great but still allows it to breathe. I wear shade light neutral and just apply some bronzer if I’ve got a tan going on.

CLINIQUE Even Better Makeup – $29.50 : The name of this is very suiting, it truly does look great on the skin and provide medium coverage with a natural finish. So they’ve expanded their shade range since I last purchased this. I wore fair but will probably have to reevaluate when I run out with all the new shades.

CLINIQUE Superbalanced Makeup – $28.50 : This has a soft-to-the-touch feel to it and a natural finish while providing medium coverage. My skin feels like it can breathe and wears nicely over the course of the day. I get the shade fair in this foundation.

IT COSMETICS CC+ Cream with SPF 50+ – $39 : Technically, this is referred to as a CC cream, but it is so full-coverage, I’m going to include it in this list. This is the highest SPF foundation I have, so it really comes in handy. It feels very nice on the skin and looks very natural, while still hiding any and all flaws with how tinted it is. I use the color light in this.

LANCÔME Teint Idole Ultra Longwear Foundation Stick SPF 21 – My friend Chelsey actually gave this to me when she just wasn’t feeling it and I ended up really liking it. I have a very fair shade (140), so I stick to this in the cooler months when I don’t have a tan. It has a matte finish and I just apply directly to my skin and blend with a damp beauty blender. This is pretty full coverage and lasts all day!
