My Typical Workout Routine + Favorite Exercises at the Gym

I’ve been working out consistently now for about 2.5 years and I have grown to absolutely love it. I try to go to the gym and lift at least twice a week and then either do a class or another listing session, depending on my mood. I’ve had some people ask me what my routine is and I thought I’d finally sit down and share it! I am by no means a professional or a trainer or anything of that nature, just someone who enjoys working out, transforming my body, and seeing myself get stronger and improve.

I don’t necessarily do every single exercise listed every single time I work out, but these are all in heavy rotation in my routine. I try to do 10-12 different exercises each workout and it roughly takes me about an hour to workout, depending on how busy the weight room is that day. I almost always do 3 sets of 10-12, unless it’s abs, then I’ll do sets of 25 or 40 when I can.

Day 1 – Legs, Butt, and Back

Barbell Hip Thrusts

Good Morning

Lying Leg Curls

Single Leg Glute Bridge

Side Lunge w/Dumbbell

Dumbbell Calf Raise

Deadlift

Squats

Back Extensions

Elevated Cable Row

Seated Leg Press

One-Arm Dumbbell Row

Thigh Abductor

Cable Pull Throughs

Day 2 – Arms and Abs

Bench Press

Barbell Curl

Dumbbell Lateral Raises

Dumbbell Shoulder Press

V-Bar Pulldown

Arnold Dumbbell Press

Dumbbell Side Bend

Cable Crunch

Crunches

Dumbbell Skull Crushers

Hammer Curl

Heel Touches

Around the Worlds

Weighted Bench Dips

Seated Flat Bench Leg Pull-In

Day 3 usually consists of doing some of the exercises above that I didn’t get a chance to get to on days 1 or 2. I will also sometimes hit a Werq, Ripped, PowerFlex, or some other fitness class on my 3rd day, as well.
