Green Bean Casserole… a holiday staple! It’s quite easy to make and my family loves mushrooms, garlic, and onion, so I decided to add a little extra of those ingredients to my dish. The longest part was steaming the green beans, other than that this is super easy to throw together and impress. This is enough for your standard casserole dish and would feed about 10 people.
Ingredients
- 3 Bags of Fresh Green Beans – 12 oz ea
- 2 Cans of Cream of Mushroom Condensed Soup – 10.5 oz ea
- French’s Crispy Fried Onions – 12oz
- Sharp Cheddar Cheese – 12 oz
- Mushroom Pieces & Stems – 8 oz
- Soy Sauce – 1 teaspoon
- Minced Garlic
- Onion Powder
- Garlic Powder
- Salt
- Pepper
To Make
I got the green beans in the steamable bag, so I steamed them before adding to the casserole dish. Essentially, you want to throw everything except the crispy fried onions in and mix it all together. You want a little friend onions in the mixture, but most will actually be going on top. Once you’ve got everything mixed in your pan, add some of the friend onions on top and bake at 350 degrees for about 25 minutes. Then pull your dish out and top with more of the friend onions and bake another 5 minutes.
That’s it! Super simple and easy. You can always adjust this based on your preference, but since my family is huge on mushrooms, garlic, and onions, I wanted to amp up the dish and make them more prominent. I think next time I will add in a fresh small white onion and fresh mushrooms instead of canned. I was going for ultra easy and it definitely worked, especially since everything is getting mixed together.
How do you make your green bean casserole? I’d love to know if you add anything crazy in there!
